   We at Kohl's Resort are committed to saving the environment. The following ways are implemented here at the resort on a daily basis.
  • 50% of electricity is off peak
  • Lights are turned off when not in use
  • Fluorescent lamps used when possible
  • Recycle newspaper and use in fish cleaning
  • Use wood shavings for slippery roads and walkways in winter
  • All garbage goes to a recycling center
  • A solar blanket is used on the pool in winter
  • Pool is backwashed and recycled into the ground
  • Coldwater wash is used in public washers
  • Water is charcoal filtered to save unnecessary bottled water usage
  • Leaves are composted and spread in green areas/ grass clippings are left
  • Firewood is purchased from local lumberjacks leftovers/ slab ends are also used
  • 95% of lodge is heated through a renewable wood source
  • 12 extra inches of insulation was added to every attic
  • Fridges are turned off between uses
  • We recommend guests to conserve air conditioning/electricity when not in use
